I know how big my uterus is at this point....and I can assure you that that bump is not all baby! Unfortunately, it's mostly just my pudge being pushed out of the way. However, sometime in the last week I became unable to suck it in or control-top it into shape...so I think I'm going to have to start owning it as a bump.
I wouldn't say I'm showing yet, especially in most of my regular clothes. Edward/Alex and a couple people at work who know I'm pregnant are the only ones who claim they see a bump. I haven't had any strangers or patients ask me if I'm pregnant. Which means that, as I expect, I'm not really showing yet. Or, they follow the Golden Rule (thou shalt not ask a woman if she is pregnant unless her water breaketh on your shoe).
looks like a bump to me!!! yay :) (I think someone needs to teach my patients the golden rule - i've been asked several times and I just reply - "no, I am just fat")
ReplyDeleteI've had one patient ask me if I was pregnant when I definately wasn't. I responded, "no, I guess I'm just looking chubby today." Instead of looking embarassed she just said, "yeah, me too!"
ReplyDeleteI'm guilty, though. I had a lady come in who looked like she was about to pop...had on a tight shirt over what looked like a prominent baby bump...I asked her when she was due. Apparently she had the baby 8 months earlier! I learned my lesson!
You look absolutely beautiful, Meredith! I agree--it's a bump! Back in the olden days when I was having babies, we didn't dare wear anything tight to show off our bumps. We'd wait until the very last minute to move into the "tents" that served as stylish maternity wear. We'd have to use the rubber-band-through-the-buttonhole trick on our pants and skirts to expand the waists and wear them as long as possible. When I was at that stage where it was becoming pretty obvious, people would ask me if I was pregnant and I would say, "No! Do I look pregnant?" just so I could watch their faces. Then I'd fess up. Usually it was men and they'd get very flustered. Now that I think about it, that was probably kind of mean...
